The practice was founded in 1954 by John Crooks. John came from working with 'James Herriot' and brought a medicine bottle full of the "Skeldale" air to infuse the atmosphere of his new practice at 28 Norwood.
The practice has grown steadily to 8 Vets and three major rebuilds of the surgery, the latest being in 1999.

We now have a modern surgery designed by a specialist architect, behind the original frontage of the traditional mixed practice near the centre of Beverley.

We are involved in many areas of veterinary work, including farm animals, horses, pets, food hygiene and teaching veterinary and nursing subjects. Our premises have air conditioning and climate control for the comfort and safety of our clients and patients. We have hospitalisation, surgical, and X-ray facilities with separate air conditioned kennels, cattery and isolation wards.
